Dutchy Design is a branding and advertisement agency based in Amsterdam. They connect people, strategy, technology and space. They strive for the ultimate branded experience.
During my 6 months at Dutchy design I've worked on creating a 3D experience in the re-branding of Dutchy Design itself. By combining the 2D and digital elements of Dutchy design into tangible 3D(printed) objects and a 3D landscape that illustrates Dutchy designs agile existence.
DUTCHY DESGIGN chocolate!
I enjoy facilitating creative sessions in order to generate as much ideas as possible. We can come up with 3000 ideas and boil them down to 5 concepts within a few hours.
In those hours I will have used tools for diversion and brianwriting, selected the best ideas and kept the group in a good mood through energizers.
Next to generating ideas, these sessions can also be used as co-creative sessions. We get the clients, researchers and the design team to create ideas together.

INDOOR CLIMBING GYM
Individual 7 mounths full time
In cooperation with “Boulder centrum Delfts Bleau” and “Dutch national climbing team“
If people climb outdoors and return to an indoor climbing gym, they have become better climbers. So there is something that can’t be trained indoors. How to bring that into the climbing gyms to improve training for climbing.
Explorative route finding is missing in indoor gyms because the routes are set with colours.
The design solution are BIG BLOCKS. A differnt way of training because there are many more option to place hands and feet per block.
Prototype self-build and tested in actual climbing gym.
Summary of my graduation project is published on the website of TU Delft sports engineering website.
And soon to be published on TU Delft website of Persuasive Game Design.
3 HOUR WEBSITE
Redesign ABN AMRO bank landing page in terms of usability and graphical design
The page now clearly distinguishes between business and private customers, whilst presenting the most important options at the top of the page. Less frequently used functions are found and the bottom of the page. All fused in the colours and style of ABN.
- Quick distinction between private and commercial clients
- To their needs, the menu options are presented
- Frequently asked questions further below on page
- Attractive commercial just in sight triggering scrolling
Redesign of a baby phone with a focus on the usability of the menu. Check out the video below! :)
- part time project 6 months
- group work
In the research phase, the navigational flow of 5 users were analysed and displayed as flowchart to illustrate the pain-points in the menu.
The focus of redesign is on your position in the menu; using tabs and as few as possible 'hidden options'.
In the final user test, a prototype was made by sliding a smartphone into a 3D printed embodiment. On the smartphone ran an app that modelled a clickable menu.
SUSTAINABLE TAKE AWAY
// Group of 6
// 6 mounths Part-time
// Design sustainable and beautiful take-away packaging for SD trading and Tante Bep
My role in this project to take care of the user research and the first concept development. We build a user scenario and shaped it to a storyboard. This storyboard helped us to decide which concept (different shapes of packaging material) was the most suitable.
We designed Canvas, a well stackable, appealing, packaging of which the lid could also be used as a plate.

I LOVE TO BUILD
I like to get my hands dirty.
I believe that it's really important to make prototypes during the design process. And I love making them! It can be with paper, on Marvel, in wood, plaster, 3D printed, rendered, silicone or even a role play.
We need to get 'into' the design in order to improve it!
As a hobby I've always designed things like lamps, jewellery or chairs. And I like to experiment with different kinds of material such as concrete, 3D printed plastic and metals and wood.
Pinterest is a place to collect things I think are pretty.
The best furniture designs, new material innovation and possible tattoos are shared.
